🎓 Kavitha Murugesan, 18, from Coimbatore, government school, TNEA cutoff 191.25 (96.4% in PCM). Her father wrote the number in a slip, folded it small, put it in his shirt pocket. 🚨 The problem
TNEA publishes multiple cutoff lists in parallel: general category, SC, ST, OBC, MBC, and horizontal reservations (women, government school, first-generation). But the main list shows only the general category. The reservation pools are in supplementary documents, often 40+ pages of PDFs. A working-class family with a lorry driver father reads the public list, sees IT at PSG Tech at 195.5, finds their child's 191.25 is below it, and assumes ineligibility. The actual cutoff for their pool — 190.75 — exists in the system but is invisible unless you know to look for page 2.
