👨👩👧 Anil Marathe, 47, manages sales and accounts at a pesticide distributor on Wardha Road in Nagpur. On May 13, his daughter Riya's CBSE Class 10 results arrived: Science 88, Maths 91, English 82, Social Studies 85 — and Hindi 64. Her pre-board score six weeks earlier had been 92. The gap was 28 marks. By evening, four WhatsApp PDFs and two contradictory voice notes from the parent group had left Anil understanding less than when he had started. CBSE runs three post-result services with similar names, different fees, and a mandatory sequence: Verification of Marks (₹500, totalling check only), Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Book (₹700, scanned pages via DigiLocker), and Re-evaluation (₹100/question, only after photocopy arrives). The seventeen-day window for Verification and Photocopy closes May 30. Maharashtra FYJC opens June 5. Re-evaluation results typically take 30 days. The structural trap: parents must apply for college admission before they know the corrected score.
